So, this is a collection of sketches I've (randomly) done over the last few months of a character from a story I've been writing. I don't know why... the sketches are very ruff and I probably should have waited till I had more done on the story as a whole, but I just felt like sharing them.
Frank, is the brother of the main character of my story, Jack Waramond. I've done a tone of sketches of Jack, but Frank was the only one whom I could make a "Character Study Sheet" out of.
Love this guy. Expressive, emotional, stalwart. Incredible detail on the uniform. I'm a big fan of military berets. Totally wouldn't mind having a fireside chat over cigars and whiskey with this fella. Well done.
they both look so cool!!!
What a great design! Is he a ginger? Also--any info about his uniform? A very interesting character sheet. I'd like to see more and find out about your story!
Glad you like him. Frank is my favorite of the characters from my story... at least the way he looks, but of course, that's because I wrote him to be just my type of guy And yes he's a ginger... well sort of. His beard grows red, while the hair on his head is more of a brown - the same colours my hubby's hair and beard are. The uniform... I just tried to design an interesting army-ish looking uniform, nothing terribly special or intentional about it's design, except it's supposed to retain qualities of army uniforms as we know them, but it's what they are after a catastrophe that wiped out a good portion of the world, and these are what they are "now" in the story. I hope that made some sense.
As for the story itself. I've been writing it as a novel. It's planned to be a five part series of books and I just finished the rough draft of the first book and am currently in the first set of edits making sure everything is there and that I like what IS there. After I'll be handing it off the person who'll be my technical editor correcting my grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Then I'll be attempting to get it published.
I also considered making it into a comic series or graphic novel, which is why I began doing drawings of the characters. But we'll see about that. It would be a LOT of work to do and I'm not sure I have the gumption to do it all.
