Your style is to die for! I have looked at many of your other HP covers and scenes and I say congratz! These are awesome! Did you look through the books for scenes and then drew them out on how the book described them?
First and foremost I must say a thank you for all the kind words and compliments on my art. I'm so glad you are enjoying it. As to your question - essentially, yes, I try and pick my scenes directly from the pages of the books. Some times I'll take slight artistic license, but for the most part I like to think of my illustrations as a snap shot of the moment it's happening.
It's my crazy little dream that some day the Potter publishers will want to use my illustrations to make illustrated editions of the books. If you wanna see what a finished version might look like take a look here: [link]
really great, I love that you apparently even did the flaps that would be hidden on the inside of the book you did an awesome job of putting so much but not making it look overdone. interesting that you have Quirrell on the spine ^^
Unfortunately I've already gotten the books back (I haven't updated that part of my site yet) they never got further than JKR's "people" who sent it back with a very nice note about how nice the book looked but JKR get's too much stuff, so they sent it back to me.
I'll try again after completing Chamber of Secrets!
