Harry Potter: Book 2, Ch.10vig. by TheGeekCanPaint Harry Potter: Book 2, Ch.10vig. by TheGeekCanPaint
Pencil on Paper

This was a pretty typical lot of vignette drawings for this chapter. I'm extremely happy with the way Dobby turned out and it was fun to draw Madam Pomfry for the first time.

Flirty little Hermione is hilarious! Love all the ladies in here - especially Hooch. Harry's flaccid arm is rather disturbing. Poor thing.
As i can't stand Dobby, but dig the way you draw House Elfs, I can't wait to see your version of my personal favourite, Kreacher.

You don't like Dobby... oh no. What don't you like about Dobby? That said, while he's a little ways off, I look forward to drawing Kreacher to!

Either way, thank you for the compliments. I'm glad you enjoy my art even if it's of characters you don't like ;)

Well, I find Dobby to be an annoying pest. I respect his devotion towards Harry and his love for freedom, but pretty much in every scene he's in I wish he'd just go away.
As for the Dobby from movies, I abhor him. The level of annoyance is skyrocketed by the shrilly voice. That is why I actually rejoiced when he died, although when I was reading the very same scene in the book I was rather sad for the poor little creature.

You aren't the first person to say they don't like him and I respect your reasons for not. Personally I think he serves his purpose in the stories very well, even if it's at time to be a pest ;)

The illustrations are great, but you've misspelled "Rogue"

You just get better and better! Your Lockhart is so funny and I love your no-nonsense (but kind) Poppy Pomfrey. Great job on the kids sopping wet robes! I don't like the character Dobby, but I do like how you've drawn him! :)

Oh god the look on Lockharts face XD and Hermione bashful and flirty. I like Dobby but the way you made the teams robes look damp was awesome. I'm looking and relooking on how that technic was carried out.

I'm glad ya like! Lockhart is always fun to draw (such an @$$) and Dobby's fastly turned into one of my favorite characters to draw. And I'm glad you're noticing the robes looking wet - I wasn't sure if I was pulling that off. It's pretty much shading them darker and the folds hang more ;)

I like your range of characters, I hate rushing you but I just can't wait to see the others you do.

Yea I'm looking over your works hoping to figure how to get the details of damp and folds. I'm trying to draw blemishes and textures for oily or dry hair. Those little details that are often over looked but makes characters pop. I'm learning alot!

Trust me, you aren't rushing me any more than I am rushing myself. I am SO looking forward to doing some of the other characters in the later books. Lockhart is fun, but I'm ready to move on to Lupin and Serius!

Well, I'll let you in on a little secret... I've already done one drawing of Lupin. It's not 100% solidified as being my take on him, but I'm fairly happy with it. If you wanna see it, take a look here: [link]

I got me an inside look! Wow I liked him. The weight of his clothes and the scars on his face, excellent!

And for very similar reasons to the ones that I did that sketch of Lupin, I've given Sirius a try... I haven't posted the drawing yet because I'm not quite as happy with him as I was with Lupin. But a few more tweeks and maybe I'll be posting him to ;)
